Blood donation information
Blood donors are very insignificant compared to the population in Bangladesh. According to statistics, the demand for blood in the country is eight to nine lakh bags per year but blood collection is six to six and a half lakh bags. There is a deficit of more than three lakh bags.
In addition, only 30 percent of the collected blood comes from voluntary blood donors. Most people still rely on professional blood donors for blood unless they have family members or acquaintances. It takes only 8 to 15 minutes to donate a bag of blood. If you want in this short time, you can play a helpful role in saving one's life.
Men have 76 ml per kg of body weight and women have 66 ml per kg of body weight. In both cases 50 ml of blood is used for circulation, the rest is left over.
The amount of excess blood in a human body (76 ml-50 ml) = 26ml per kg and in women per kg (66 ml-50 ml) = 16 ml That is, the amount of blood left in the body of a man weighing 50 kg (50 kg * 26 ml) = 1300 ml and in women (50 kg * 16 ml) = 800 ml
Voluntary blood donation collects 350 to 450 ml of blood from a donor, which is 1 / 10th of the total blood in his body and less than half of the surplus blood. The amount of blood that is taken becomes normal again in just 48 hours. This is why most blood donors do not feel anything after donating blood.
